Wildlife Encounter HK's Initiative

A Community Based Approach

Hong Kong is the fourth most densely populated administrative region in the world. One of the great benefits of the city is its outstanding levels of natural beauty interwoven with diverse ecosystems boasting biodiverse populations. Although, it's small area, Hong Kong possesses a wildlife population with significant levels of species richness.

The intention of Wildlife Encounter HK, is to promote the harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife. This project looks to increase the appreciation of wildlife through promoting an understanding of the ecological value they add in the wider ecosystem. Wildlife Encounter HK aims to promote and engage with residents and visitors to enable everyone to enjoy the nature of Hong Kong.

Scroll through the Home page to explore the Wildlife you're likely to encounter in different regions of Hong Kong, and what you can add to the community.  Wildlife Encounter HK provides information on the different terrestrial species of wildlife you may see on a hiking trail or in your local area, looks to disseminate scientific-based information relating to the ecological value of wildlife and increase the overall levels of awareness!
